Castor oil contains almost 90% ricinoleic acid, which tends to bind to other fatty acids giving this oil a very high viscosity. It is Sticky, heavy oil, and difficult to spread. Thick, greasy oil with a slow rate of absorption. Suitable for dry, chapped, and damaged skin as well as mature skin. Its unique fatty acid profile makes it excellent for soap making and other bath products

Uses- It is widely used in lipsticks due to its characteristics – it stays in place and it is hard to spread, which is essential in highly pigmented products, it gives shine to the product. Castor oil is seldom used in skincare because it does not contain fatty acids considered physiologically important for the skin. On the other hand, it is a welcome addition in haircare and cleansing products
